Song Profile: We Crown You - Fee

So this weekend was a stressful one, I had and still have a huge stack of papers to grade, lots of things that needed to be done, stress over my sister-in-laws dog (she had a doctor’s appointment that I would never want) and to top it off my computer decided to fight me and now it won't charge at all. the computer is six years old, burns my leg when it’s on my leg and I have replaced the power plug 5 times (around $30-$50) I have decided that it was no longer viable to replace the thing again. In the past two years I have replace the cord 3 times alone. So needless to say there is a lot on my mind and I can get down easy.

Then I remembered that I am playing worship music on Sunday, and quite frankly it was a relief to play. During that time I felt that all the things I was holding on to I could give up to God and move on from it. On song that we played was "We Crown You" by Fee. Earlier last year I quickly fell in love with this song. The song reminds me of how big God can be, it's easy to take for granted all the amazing things that God has done and will continue to do. It's those time that life starts flying at you that you can begin to forget about what God can and does for you.

The song comes from 1 Thessalonians 2:19 For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you?. ESV

The song is about how we want to crown God every day when there are days that we try to worship some other idol. At times this weekend I was putting my issues up on a pedestal and basically saying that God is not big enough to take care of my problems. This is a lie to think and live that way. I've had to ask for forgiveness because I tried to solve my own problems. God saves and we need to remember to crown him daily. Worship is a lifestyle not just a Sunday thing, or even a singing songs to God.

If you click on the song you can hear more of the story behind the song.
