Movie Review: Snow White and the Huntsman

To end our lovely 5 year anniversary we came home and ran one errand and then went to the movies to see "Snow White and the Huntsman". The trailers for the movie got us really excited about it. Epic stories hold a special place in my heart and this one looked like it would fit into that line.

The movie is a different take on the Snow White story and it's no Disney movie. It's more of a Joan of Arc than sweet love story. This story is action pack throughout and quite enjoyable. Charlie Theron is the star of the movie as the Evil Queen Ravenna. She plays evil so well and over the top it seems to come naturally.

The story begins with the birth of Snow White and then as time past the Queen became ill and died. The king then battled the darkness and thought he saved a women but that women turned out to be the evil queen. Who promptly threw Snow White in the dungeon and took over the kingdom.

We flashed ahead some time and witness what keeps the Queen looking beautiful and then find out she needs the heart of Snow White. Snow White then is able to escape when the Queens brother goes to get her.

This point the Huntsman is introduced and brought to the queen and ordered to find her in the dark woods. He finds her and that is as much as I want to share because this is where the story gets really good and you should go see it.

The dwarfs are also excellent and you will recognized many of their faces. Thor does a good job as the Huntsman but I am afraid he is going to be type-caste if he continues taking these roles. Kristin Stewart also preformed admirably as Snow.

All in all its a great movie and lives up to the trailers.
