Movie Review: Zero Dark Thirty

Some days there are movies you want to see and sometimes those movies are more intense then you expect.  Zero Dark Thirty is one of those movies, you’re not sure you want to see it but you do want to see it. The movie, if you don't know is about the ten year man hunt for Osama Bin Laden. Even going into watching the movie and knowing what’s going to happen, it’s difficult. The movie plays out what happened over the course of ten years in the hunt for Bin Laden. Our heroine is Maya, a young CIA plays out scenario's and is part of a group of agents who interrogate captives to get information about the whereabouts of Osama and this eventually lead to his death.

Jessica Chastian was phenomenal in the movie, playing Maya is a tough role. Especially since she is playing a real person.

The torture scenes are extremely uncomfortable to watch. I mean I have seen torture scenes before but this time it felt more real. I know it’s not great language to use but it’s the only way to describe it. The movie was also about 25 minutes too long. It was great but a little slows overall. There is not much else to say about the movie, if you want to watch it then watch it, but I understand if you don't want to see it.
