Want to live a better live...I do...

So I recently read an article on Releventmagazine.com that caused me to do a lot of reflection. Especially with lent happening. For those of you who don't know Lent is a time of year where people give up something until Easter, when Christ returned from the dead. Many Christian sects practice lent and it's something that I have contemplated in the past. The reason for not doing it is because I am selfish broken person, we all are, and lent means that we are giving something up for fasting purposes and I like my life and I can't decide what to give up so nothing happens. You know good thoughts lead to good intentions...that are sooo true. I thought it was good and had intentions but nothing happened.

What does this have to do with the article I read, for one, I would have given something up for lent. If you read the article you might figure it out but if you ask me I will tell you. The article is entitled "7 Habits That Will Make You Miserable", catchy I know. The article chronicles one guy’s struggles with life and ways that he is approaching it to change it. I read this and went, oh man, do is feel convicted now. I found that I could fit into 5 of the 7 habits. OUCH!

What am I going to do about it, well I am going to attack each one, one at a time and try to change them. I am hoping that those of you who see me on a daily, weekly basis will see the change in me. Lent is about giving something up, what if it was meant for something higher, part of the problem I have had with lent is people give something up for x number of days (I learned that different Christian sects believe in a different number of days) they end up going back to it. I don't want to go back to a habit that will make me miserable. I want to break it; most studies believe it takes 21 days to break a habit so that is where I will start. Will is fall, Yes, will I not give up, Yes.

A lot of the habits are bad for you; separate you from living a Godly life, heck they will keep you from living a good life.
