The porch to nowhere!!!!
Home ownership can be tough sometimes, you know finding out various problems and trying to solve...but some things can be a blast and by blast I mean I get to destroy things like a random porch attached to a weird spot at our house. I did this a few weeks ago and it was awesome to make lots of noise and the chaos was awesome. While doing this work I thought back over the last number of months. It was an extremely tough end of the year for me. Getting tired of the politics of my job, the students ready to be done (even though they had a month of school left), and the apathy that I was feeling.

I know that I am in my job for some reasons but the only thing I can think of right now is to provide for my family. The passion I once had for my job has greatly diminished and there are many mornings I wake up wishing that my job was something I was passionate about. Let me tell you I was passionate about getting rid of that porch, it was a cathartic release of energy.
The wood is stacked up!!!

What got me through that last little bit of the school year was a few verses that I came across during my quite time.

Psalm 119:28 My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word! (ESV)

Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.(ESV)

As I hinted above the end of the year was tough and knowing that I was not relying on myself to get through the last little bit of the year. I thank God that he is in charge of everything and sometimes all I have to do is pray and ask for strength. One day that passion will come back or move on to something else but for now the Lord gives strength and some days he gives me fun things to do to distract me from myself. This was one of those days.
Gone, Gone, Gone!
